Aim

The idea to establish BADZIŃSKI Translation Bureau is derived from a great passion for translation and interpreting.

BADZIŃSKI Translation Bureau provides translation at the highest substantive level, professionalism, promptness maintaining the terminology characteristic of a particular field and specialisation with the provision of linguistic service par excellence and solutions in international communication (WIN–WIN).

Arkadiusz Badziński — the owner

  • assistant professor at the University of Silesia, doctor in health sciences, lexicographer, academic tutor of En­glish, sworn translator and (simultaneous and consecutive) interpreter, specialist in medical, pharmaceutical, legal and economic translation and interpreting, providing classes related to medical, economic, legal and business language;
  • author of three specialized dictionaries (including two medical dictionaries);
  • employed at the University of Silesia since 2003 (seminars and translation/interpreting classes);
  • cooperation with medical research centers in Poland (e.g. the National Research Institute of Oncology, Gliwice, the Medical University of Silesia and Wroclaw Medical University);
  • experience gained as head of the British Council Centre, Katowice;
  • cooperation with the Silesian Nanomicroscopy Center (Zabrze) involved in holographic, confocal, scanning, electron microscopy and cryogenic regime;
  • translation of more than 1500 medical papers published in e.g. "Cancers", "PlosOne", "Stroke", "Circulation", "International Journal of Molecular Sciences", "Gland Surgery" or "BMC Neurology";
  • total Impact Factor from the medical field – IF 21.949;
  • total Impact Factor of translated medical articles – IF 2298.62;
  • co-authorship of papers on medical sciences (including cardiology, neurology, psychiatry) and humanities (philology, psychology);
  • translation of medical books (e.g. on histology "Microscopic Evaluation of Cells in Fluids from Body Cavities" and psychiatry "The Role of the Family in the Treatment of the Mentally Ill Person" (editor); translation of inventories and validated translations of questionnaires in medicine and psychology;
  • translation of 6 books published by the Council of the Baltic Sea States on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child - a project in cooperation with the Ombudsman for Children and the Ministries of Health and Social Affairs of Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, the United Kingdom and Norway;
  • Awards: First Degree Award of the Rector of the Silesian Medical University for scientific achievement (2022);
  • Associate member of the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Interpreters (TEPIS) and the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA).
